AstraZeneca's business activities touch many people's lives including the communities around us
On the Community and Social Responsibility (CSR) front, AstraZeneca again made a difference in the lives of cancer patients with the launch of the fifth edition of the Moments in Time calender.We also partnered with the international Global Education Fund, a non-profit organisation set up to provide vulnerable children with an opportunity to benefit from foundation phase education, including basic literacy and numeracy.
AstraZeneca South Africa has invested time and effort in various projects nationally and internationally i.e. three flagship projects, as well as education programmes for school children and bursaries for final year B.Sc students.
Flagship projects include:
- Sport for Education
- Moments in Time
- AMREF TB project
Through these education programmes, stationery, computers and lapdesks are supplied.
Other community projects include:
- National Cancer Registry
- Mercy Ships
- Promoting Rural Enterprise Development through Fibre Craft Production
- Buckets from Business for Kids Haven
- 16 Days of Activism Against Abuse
