The Managed Healthcare area of our business focuses on building and maintaining relationships with its key accounts: including funders, administrators and providers of Healthcare services across the entire spectrum
The success of the division is underpinned by the fact that out of 33 pharmaceutical companies, AstraZeneca has been ranked as number one, with Funders and similarly among Providers, in the 2006 Campbell Belman Confidence Predictor and Development survey. This is the fifth consecutive year that AstraZeneca has achieved this status.
It has become a crucial element of the pharmaceutical business to be strategically positioned in terms of both product pricing and contact with relevant groups. This facilitates getting information to funders to ensure the reimbursement of products and to maintain the existing momentum of the product pipeline, thereby improving the efficacy of health care spend.
Ultimately AstraZeneca is working towards minimising the barriers to product access, while simultaneously facilitating better interaction and understanding between the role players.
The company's strategic intent is to continue developing these relationships to enable it to deliver cost-effective medicines to a wide number of patients.
