Pain and Anaesthesia

The AstraZeneca anaesthetic range offers practitioner’s parenteral and topical application options in local and regional anaesthetics, and inhalation and intravenous options in general anaesthesia.

Naropin®   (ropivacaine) is indicated for surgical anaesthesia, acute and per- and postoperative pain management.  It is available in Polyamps (2 - 10 mg/ml) and in Polybag (2mg/ml).

EMLA ®  (lidocaine prilocaine) is indicated for use as a topical anaesthetic for intact skin.

Diprivan ® (propofol) is indicated for the induction and maintenence of general anaesthesia and the sedation of ventiliated adult ICU patients as well as conscious sedation for surgical and diagnostic procedures in adults.  It is available in 2 strengths - 1% and 2%.

Suprane ® (desflurane) is an inhalational anaesthetic indicated for the induction and maintenance of anaesthesia.
