Nexiam® (esomeprazole) is the result of an extensive research and development programme that lasted for over a decade. With Nexiam®, the first proton pump inhibitor developed as an isomer, AstraZeneca has achieved an evolution in PPI therapy beyond Losec® and the other PPI's that followed.
Gastric acid plays a central role in the development of a range of diseases and complications – and control of acid is the key to their management. By prescribing Nexiam®, you can achieve more effective acid control than with other proton pump inhibitors (PPIs) [1-3] ,which has been shown to result in greater clinical efficacy in the management of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GORD). For your patients who have persistent, recurring symptoms of GORD, who are frustrated by these symptoms and the impact they have on their everyday life:
